    Heart of Hearing

    7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

    Lilypad

Inman Square Cambridge.   $15 suggested donation.

Most of you already know what a remarkable place the Lilypad is.  A resource where creative musicians of all types play, with a good piano and a clear sound in the room.  And when the Lilypad hosts 30 people, it seems quite full.  But no matter the number, the experience of the music always so intimate and direct from both the stage and the seats.  We feel you up there on the stand with us.

First WEDNESDAY – every month –

    Rick Dimuzio – tenor saxophone

    Andrew Schiller – upright bass

    Dor Herskovits – drums

Jazz Quartet @ Short and Main

    7:30 PM

    http://shortandmain.com/

    36 Main Street Gloucester

    Upstairs in their listening room

with Nick Brust (sax) – Ehud Ettun (bass) – Charlie Weller (drums) – and me (electric piano.)

We will play upstairs at the wonderful restaurant Short and Main.  At the corner of Short and Main Street.
You can call for reservations (978) 281-0044.   Please know that most likely no one will answer the phone until 5:00 pm.

We will start playing closer to 7:30 – so that we can have time for dinner and conversation.  However you are welcome to just come for the music.  There is bar. And it is a good sounding room.

The staff and owner have been so welcoming – and I am sure that you will enjoy the scene and music – and that you will know (or recognize) almost everyone there.   This way of sharing music means so much to me.  There is no cover charge – but we do have permission to pass a hat so that we can pay the band, all of whom all come up from Boston for the night to play.

We are getting ready to record a new album in June.  And these live gigs help us prepare.  This is part of what we do to share and document the music we are working on.  The albums appear up on Spotify and Apple Music.  But we have not figured out a way to make this part of the musical life even begin to pay for itself financially.  So lately I've been preferring to focus on the aspects of things that cannot be measured.   These are the things that more truly reflect our deepest values.
