I couldn’t help noticing the convergence of two big reassuring national news stories today: the electoral college vote – as constitutionally required asserting Biden’s official designation as the next president – and the vaccine’s introduction today into the arms of the first healthcare providers.
Both science and our imperfect institutions have so far now held back even the most pernicious deniers, liars and conspiracy theorists and did what they were designed to do. All because so many people with an inclusive vision worked tirelessly, people who believed in their collective tasks and who cared about other people. These are some of the heroes that are moving all of us towards a brighter future.
