First Jazz of 2025 at Spice
7:00 to 9:00 PMWe are going to celebrate with a very special band featuring both the soulful and graceful vocalist. Donna McElroy and the fiery alto saxophonist, Nick Brust.
We will also be joined by the deeply grooving rhythm section of Sean Farias, on upright bass, and Charlie Weller on drums.
The Mason and Hamlin piano is in very good shape. And I am always so delighted to share music in that intimate space.

Nat Mugavero is turning 89 on May 22. I played every week with him for at least 10 years in downtown Boston Hotels. We had a band called “Freedom of Assembly” that recorded an album and you can hear it on the streaming services under that name.
Nat is a life teacher for many of us – pointing the way towards the unconditional joy present in facing the unknown through music.
We will be joined by our former trio mate and bassist, John Lockwood and tenor saxophonist Rick DiMuzio.
We will play one set of music and hope that you will join us for this special evening.
